Capstone Research Project - O2C

The Order-to-Cash process is at the heart of your business. And yet, this process is often surprisingly disjointed, inefficient, and difficult to track. In theory, order-to-cash is a single "mega" process that moves an order through the organization from sales through delivery, billing, and finally to payment processing. In reality, however, the level of complexity and coordination required to seamlessly manage this process is a challenge for many organizations and while improving the order-to-cash process is a high priority, the question remains: where is the best place to start?

Here is a white paper prepared by an SAP Implementation partner to promote their services http://1drv.ms/1K8jmdA
  • Review the key elements of the order-to-cash process
  • Identify the most common areas where the process can break down
  • Explore five different case studies from global organizations that were able to quickly implement improvements that increased the overall speed and accuracy of the order-to-cash process
  • Lean how you can leverage the power and flexibility of SAP applications to make the best use of limited process innovation dollars, deliver significant value to the organization, and outpace the competition to win the global process transformation race
The project work will consist of survey of O2C processes in use in 2 business organizations in the vicinity of the college and determine the maturity level of the process development and recommend a phased improvement plan.
Finally when each student has completed his/her survey of 2 organizations each, the data of all organizations will be summarized and analysed to understand the maturity level of the entire region and prepare recommendations for improvements at a regional level for the use of the local government and industry associations.

Get ready to start hands on practicals. Today we will meet in Cognizant Lab at 5pm.

Lab will be in Cognizant Lab every Thursday and Friday between 5pm and 6pm. I had asked you for your vote to select the morning or evening time slot. There were exactly half votes for each option. Therefore, it is decided that we will continue to have lab sessions in the evening slot.

You will be using SAP ECC6 version of software. The servers are hosted by SAP University Alliance at Queen's University in Australia. You will access these servers in Australia from your PCs in the lab.  To do this you need to install "Client" software referred to as "SAP GUI".

The SAP GUI software should be already installed on the PCs in the Cognizant Lab. But you need to check that SAP GUI is installed and properly accessing the SAP servers. If it is necessary to re-install the SAP GUI software, then please contact Cognizant lan incharge.
